In this heartwarming teenage romantic comedy we follow a precocious young woman who realizes that she is the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) among her beautiful group of friends. Using the device of a newspaper column to tell her story, we watch as she goes through the famous 5 Stages of Grief on her path to discovering that being a DUFF is simply what you make of it.
