We Are Marshall takes place in the aftermath of the 1970 plane crash that killed 37 football players on the Marshall University football team. Matthew McConaughy stars as Jack Lengyel, the new young head coach who is charged with rebuilding the Thundering Herd, along with assistant coach Red Dawson. McG's dramatic depiction of this true story demonstrates how these men helped a team, school, and community heal their wounds and find possibility after tragedy.
